Hi there! Congrats on finishing your reel. I love the graphic quality of your illustration style and your use of shapes and lines. Everything in your shots is always so interesting to look at! I think you use color in an effective way as well, and that really allows this story about Sven to stand out overall in the gallery. Well done!

I love your art style. The message was great and I loved how you turned the race into Sven's chance to shine as a dancer. Congratulations on submitting your final piece.

Hello,
Congratulations on your final submission!
The story of Sven is a great one. You did wonderful tying together all the loose ends for a satisfying and effective ending! You showcased a lot of steps leading to Sven's acceptance of himself. The story was clear, your scenes were interesting, and your frames were effective and easy to distinguish. No steps missed!
As always, love your art style and the tone it brings to your story. The color embellishments really added a lot and made the piece cohesive with their inclusion.
Overall, wonderful submission and looking forward to seeing what more you do with this story! Congratulations!

Hey, Anna! Congrats on finishing your storyreel! I've been following this one for a while, so it's awesome to see the final version for the class. I love what you've done with the color in this version. It makes your already stellar art really pop off the screen. I already quite liked the previous submission, and this one only improves on it. You should be super proud of what you've created!

Congratulations on finishing your story, Animatsonga! I think it would help even more if you had a variety of music to match the mood in certain scenes but I do love your unique art style and the expressiveness of each character. The pop of color in each panel helps us identify important elements of your story. Congratulations again and wishing you all the best! :)

Hi Animatsonga!
The first thing that stood out to me about your project is the board around the drawings and the small pieces of information on the bottom. It was such a subtle, unique touch that added so much character to the storytelling! The animations and facial expressions do a great job of highlighting what the characters are experiencing. It's impressive you could put this together with just one background sound, and no audio needed. I also enjoyed the transitions between frames. I enjoyed the story and the journey it took me on. Great job!

I find your artwork so memorable and stylistic! It has so much movement with your use of curvy lines and bold values. Aesthetically it looks like water color and ink illustration. Your character expressions really help to tell the story, however I think the music overpowers the emotion at the moment a bit. Your contrasting visuals really help to explain important moments of your story, I found the classroom setting very compelling! Your use of color also helps with identifying importance characters of the story. Good luck with your creative journey!

I liked the art direction throughout the video. You capture so many emotions without even needing to rely on word. My only note would be about the music choice, which feels more like an afterthought. To have the music change with the tone and emotion of a piece that doesn't rely on spoken word seems like a missed opportunity.
But I think that's nitpicking, and overall, the story shines through your work, and I love the inclusive nature of the story.

I liked the story.
Very nice art I think it would be a very nice graphic novel.
I think it would help to have a variable selection of songs as it is rare to see sad scenes with happy music.
Great job.

This is such a cute story!
I love the art style so much and I can totally see this being a bite size short for disney or pixar.
I feel like more variety in music would help convey the story tone more but I really love this its very cute!
Keep up the amazing work!

This is a very heartwarming story that flows well and has a beautiful message. I really liked the unexpected twist at the end where instead of racing he starts dancing. The amount of effort you put into this deserves attention. With the art style, some animation, and the overall look and feel of this story, this feels very professional. Good work, Anna!

Sven Xenopoulos doesn’t feel he fits in in Swedish society. He has the opportunity to return to the Greece of his childhood where he believes he will be accepted, but again faces the fear of not fitting in. All he really wants to do is dance, but can he overcome his trauma and be himself?
